The kit is brand new manufacture date of and is still in the factory sealed Lenovo box. Lenovo thinkserver You would need to use the Lenovo caddies which are not included with this kit to carry the hard drives.

The cage has support for up to 4 sas or sata drives. This is a photo we found online to show what the kit contains.

While this kit is designed for the thinkserver TS440 and TD340 lines there is no technical reason it couldn't be used in other cases. 5 hot swap HDD expansion kit for thinkserver TS440 and TD340 tower server brand new never opened. 4XF0G45888 we ordered this expansion kit for a recent server build but ended up not needing it. The Lenovo part number is 4XF0G45888.

The main factor being if it would physically fit in another case or not that would be up to you to figure out. The box you are buying in this offer is unopened and untouched.
